The Vineyard

The Vineyard movement exists to reach out to all people regardless of background, age, sex, color, or music style. Since God has made the people of the world so diverse, His church must be also. We believe God is gathering a generation of people to worship Him and honor Him in their own language and in their own style. Jesus is able to meet people right where they are and relate to them regardless of what they think of Him. The reputation of Jesus and the Church is definitely tarnished and battered. Most people think of church as a place that wants their money and wants to make them feel guilty about the life they lead. We strive to be different. We want to be a community that welcomes others to come and seek God, regardless of their past experiences with Jesus or the Church. We believe that Jesus is gentle, kind, and approachable. We hope to be the same.

I'm a member of the Mile High Vineyard and a missionary working to extend God's kingdom in Denver Metro, the Front Range, and abroad. I've taken on many roles with the Vineyard as a small group leader, leading service team, developing prayer and worship gatherings, conducting outreach, and as a drummer on the worship team. We currently have two locations at which I serve, in Olde Town Arvada and Down Town Denver.

History

In September 2001, Jay and Danielle Pathak moved to Arvada from Columbus, Ohio with a team of fourteen others to start a community of people that would seek and follow Jesus together. They came from the Columbus Vineyard, where Jay was on staff with its young adult congregation, Joshua House. Having seen Joshua House grow from a small group of ten people into nearly 1,000 young adults, Jay and Danielle knew the potential for similar growth here in Arvada as people fell more and more in love with Jesus. Starting with only three small groups in the fall of 2001, our first combined service was held on Easter of 2002. The church met monthly until Christmas Eve of 2002, when we started services each Sunday evening in Old Town Arvada. Morning services began in the fall of 2004. Summer 2009 we planted the Downtown Denver Hub.
