TweetThis blog post signifies new movement within the 24-7 Tent. It's our first blog post and a symbol of the growing movement of 24-7 worship and prayer in the Rocky Mountain Region! As this movement grows so does the canopy of continuous worship and prayer. - WE LOVE THIS! Within the 24-7 Tent ministry we're seeing lots of growth. Recently we expanded from a two person operation to a nine person leadership team composed of regionally minded leaders - prayer house leaders, worship leaders, intercessors, missionaries and business men. This has been a God orchestrated experience, in which every team member in their own right could be investing time, money, and energy in plenty of other Kingdom exploits, but at this time, God is doing something beyond ourselves. Yes, there are a lot of "Good" causes to be investing in, but the cause of knowing Christ and making Him known is as BIG as ever!
The 24-7 Worship and Prayer Movement is a Mission's Movement. It's a banner declaring what God has been saying since the beginning of time. "LOVE YOUR LORD GOD"
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:36-38
Prayer Rooms create a space for us to be focused on Jesus and knowing God's father heart. This is a space that we all desperately need! As we establish the greatest commandment in our hearts and lives we find that the second: "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" is in ACTION!
39 And the second is like it. 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.'—(Leviticus 19:18) 40 Everything that is written in the Law and the Prophets is based on these two commandments."
What if these two commandments where at the forefront of our minds 24-7? What if we lived with a "24 hour, 7 day a week mindset" purposed to love God and our neighbors? I think we would begin to see Heaven breaking out where ever we step! So here is the deal...We are passionate about this for the Rocky Mountain Region and the Nations. As you read this I'm sure that this passion is stirring or at least beginning to stir in YOU TOO! We are taking this movement seriously and have narrowed down some goals that the 24-7 Tent is going to accomplish in the near future:
- Establish a continual worship and prayer covering across Colorado by inviting people to sign-up online to worship and pray for one hour a week in their homes, on their lunch breaks, in their cars - wherever!
- Organize 24-hour events throughout the state that help strengthen the 24-7 Worship and Prayer Movement!
- Provide training and resources to support existing houses of prayer and establish new ones.
ONLINE SCHEDULE - Currently we have an online schedule. It's a simple calendar listing the days and hours of the week. As you submit your request to participate in the canopy of worship and prayer over Colorado, we will fill you in on the calendar. If there is a prayer house / room, ministry, or church that has a reoccurring gathering that others can attend, then we will hi-light that gathering on the calendar and post information for locating the gathering. This is a really easy way to say " HEY! I'm a part of this movement! Join ME!"
24-HOUR EVENTS - We want to see communities of 24-7 Worship and Prayer! We don't care where - It can happen in a home, a church, an office, a bar, a warehouse, a moving van...who cares! We just want to support it however we can. So when we can pull our collective efforts together we will do our best to organize 24 hour events that encourage and support the movement...and sometimes these events might be longer! 48, 72, 168 hours...Or it may just depend on YOU.
TRAINING & RESOURCING - Our best effort will go forward in giving away all that we have. WE ARE GIVERS FIRST - So as best as we can, we want to provide you with practical training and resources to see this movement grow up and be healthy. We want to partner with you! As individuals, as prayer houses, as ministries, and church families - we want to see a healthy and thriving faith community! Just to be straight forward with you - We are not out to control or own anything... and honestly We don't want to - We want YOU to own it! The 24-7 Tent is NOT A PRAYER HOUSE - It's a banner, a facilitator, an organizer, and an encouragement to the body of Christ. God is calling His family and all of creation to know Him. So, if you don't respond and take ownership then who will? Just know that we have your back, and if God is doing it through you then we will do our best to be there too!
