Newsletter, Winter 2010

Did you know that Worship and the Word Movement hosts the largest Christian Music Festival in  Colorado? Twenty-Three thousand packed out our venue last summer catapulting us into the #1 spot. The potential attendance this year could be an astounding 50,000! This could also potentially enable us to double our giving budget from $50,000 in 2009 to hopefully $100,000 this year to go to orphans, the homeless of Denver, and to the abolitionist movement LOVE 146, who are fighting to abolish child sex trafficking and build safe homes for rescued girls. Our possible new venue, Union Reservoir in Longmont (20 minutes north of Denver) will allow us to reach this potential.

You might be thinking "So what?" "Who cares about a massive Christian music festival?" I thought the same thing about two years ago when I requested an interview with the lead executive, Dave Powers. He shared the heart behind Heaven Fest. It is a platform to gather believers and seekers to worship, pray, and be touched by Jesus in a radical way! I liked the sound of that. It's not a profit making business. Heaven Fest gives it's profits away! Truly radical. I love it! Now today I'm one of those executive's on the team working to make this festival all that God would desire it to be!

The primary focus of Heaven Fest is to be a catalyst for revival in Denver Metro and the Front Range. We aren't just inviting the biggest national acts so we can throw a massive party but to gather believers and seekers, young, old, and families to worship and pray together. We are aligning our year round ministry, the 24-7 Worship and Prayer Tent, to be a major focus of the event. A goal proceeding Heaven Fest would be to see individuals and communities encouraged to pursue 24-7 worship and prayer in Denver Metro, the Front Range, and where ever people may go back to. We desire to see people touched by Jesus, filled up, and inspired to live radically.

Will you pray that Heaven Fest meets this goal? We want Heaven Fest to be a festival that Jesus would come to. We want to prepare a place that welcomes Jesus and invites people to commune with Him.

Will you plan to come and be apart of Heaven Fest as well? I would love for you to come worship and pray with us! Join us as we contend for God's Kingdom and the hearts of people; to know Jesus intimately, to be filled by the Holy Spirit, and to see revival break out in the Rocky Mountain Region!

Interesting Statistics From 2009
  • Heaven Fest was able to donate over $50,000 to various humanitarian organizations such as an orphanage in Honduras and Denver Mayor Hickenlooper's Road Home campaign to end homelessness in Denver.
  • Over 200 kids were sponsored in 3rd-World countries.
  • Heaven Fest gave out nearly 10,000 free tickets to different organizations that serve the poor and marginalized.
  • Everyone in 2009 had the option to buy a ticket for "Whatever They Could Afford". 25% of all attendees paid a penny or less for their ticket.

Other News:

  • I'm working to establish a worship and prayer furnace on Auraria Campus. If this is your heart will you pray for favor for meeting with campus ministry leaders and people of faith on campus? I feel like God wants to pour out the Holy Spirit in a fresh way on this campus that would overflow into the city. Pray Luke 4:14-19 & Isaiah 61 - May the Spirit of the Lord be upon us!
  • I'm planning to take a trip to the United Kingdom in May! I will be traveling with a ministry team from the Mile High Vineyard. We will be putting on a conference at Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland, doing outreach in Belfast, and serving at a conference in London. If you've ever attended a conference that's done well, you know that Jesus usually shows up in a BIG way, healing and ministering to people. We are all about being the hands and feet of Jesus for the Church in the UK!
  • We are revamping the The Tent website and planning to host two 24 hour worship and prayer gatherings in April. One in Denver and one in Longmont. So keep an eye out for that!
Sincerely,
Patrick
